Makeup by Mario Surreal Skin Foundation

We all have that one product. You know what I mean, that one product for when you need to look good. I’m talking about that one product that you can always depend on. For me, this is that product. The brand Makeup by Mario is a newer brand that is currently sold at Sephora and on the Makeup by Mario website. I believe he only has one foundation at the moment, and it’s this one. This foundation retails for $42 at Sephora. It provides medium coverage and is advertised to provide a natural finish.

I would agree with both of those claims. When I wear this foundation my skin doesn’t feel glowy in the sense that I look like the tin man (think Tarte Maraca skin tint). This foundation just looks like natural, flawless skin. I would also agree with the claim that it provides a solid medium coverage. I don’t get full porcelain doll like coverage. It basically just looks like healthy and flawless skin. This is also a very comfortable formula. It comes in 30 shades total, however, the bulk of the shade range is focused on more light to medium skin tones. If you are African-American then you may have a hard time finding a shade that fits you.

I apply this foundation with a damp beauty sponge. I have never used it with a brush because I much prefer a damp beauty sponge. I apply 2 pumps to the back of my hand and then dot the product on my face with the beauty sponge. To blend the foundation into the skin I use a pressing or patting motion to work the product into my skin. I find this gives me the most natural and well-blended look. This foundation blends very easily. It’s not an overly dry formula so it’s very easy to work into the skin.

Overall I would give this product a 9/10. I deducted one point because it’s 2023 and we can do better with shade ranges. However, I will always repurchase this foundation. I use this whenever I have to be on camera because it never fails me. I don’t care how many foundations are ever in my collection at any given time, you will always find this one.

This verse should provide encouragement to anyone struggling with what their purpose in life is. This verse literally says that you are God’s workmanship. One of the things that always strikes me about God is how intentional He is. He doesn’t do anything or create anything without a purpose. Therefore, you can rest assured that if He created you then He has a purpose for you. Just like Jeremiah 29:11 says, God has plans for you and plans of good works that are designed to prosper you. The only thing you need to do in order to enjoy them is to walk in them. This means your purpose comes when you draw near to Jesus. The best part about all this is, it’s so easy to draw near to Jesus, all you have to do is turn in His direction and He will meet you where you are. His love really is that good!
